Did you know?

Onions are great for colds. About 13 years ago, I had such a bad cold, coughing so often and so hard that I had to run to the bathroom each time. My sister Ruth, the Herbalist, told me what to do. Boil an inch or two of water in a pot. Turn off the water and add a thinly sliced onion. Let it sit until the onion is cool enough (yet still hot) to put on the chest just under your chin . Wrap a towel around yourself and sit for an hour to an hour and a half. Your coughing will subside quite a bit. This was a huge help. You can even drink the onion juice from the pot to boost your immune system even more. Doing this several days in a row will be a help.

Garlic is a staple in my house. When any of my children began to show signs of getting sick, we would peel a clove at least for each person and give each child a piece of bread.
Then we put a dollop of sour cream on a plate, my children would dip the bread in sour cream and take a small bite of garlic until the garlic and bread were all finished. This aids the immune system in fighting the cold. It worked for us.

Mango's are great for skin/complexion.

Pineapple have natural enzimes for digestive system.

Goose fat- save fat from cooking goose, and rub on body. Great for people that have had radiation treatment. It protects the body from losing nutrients.

Sending Love

It was 1999 and I was a family support worker. I had the strongest urge to see one of my clients although I had not made any appointment to see Joan. Pulling over to the side of the road, I called Joan and said I felt like I had to see her. Joan said her sister was there at her house. They were going to go shopping. I kept talking and drove to Joan’s house. There was no car, so still on the phone, I walked up to the door and rang the bell. On the other end, Joan said, ”One minute, someone is at the door.”
When Joan opened the door, she laughed and asked, “How did you know?”
Joan had been drinking, not a good idea.
When I walked in, I could feel someone else in the house. I asked Joan,” Who else is here?”
“No one, the children are at school.”
I hesitated and walked down the hall and pushed open the first bedroom door I came to.
There on the bed was Joan’s older sister, drunk. Now this one did not have a car for shopping. I told Alice that she would have to leave. Joan was not allowed to drink and could lose her children if she did.
Alice rose unsteadily to her feet. She was close to 300 pounds and around 6 feet tall.
I watched her as I went back down the hall, turning to keep an eye on her. As Alice and I passed the washroom, Joan stood in the washroom door combing her hair. Alice leapt at her sister, knocking all 120 pounds of Joan to the floor. As Alice was pummelling Joan, I somehow managed to pull Alice off Joan.
Toe to toe, I stared up at Alice, growling, “ You have to leave!”
Alice’s eyes changed in those seconds. They became demon-like. Startled, I realized that aggression was not the way to deal with anything. Quickly, I white lighted myself and sent Alice love. Alice’s eyes drooped and very quietly I said,” You must go now.”
Alice turned, walked down the steps to the front door, opened the door and left.
I was stunned, sending love was the best I could have done. I never saw Alice again and I became adamant about sending love with every difficult situation I found myself in.

Did you know?

Did you know that a headache is usually a sign of dehydration? So drink up. Add about 4 glasses of water right away.

The composition in diet drinks can stimulate your appetite for up to 90 minutes.

Many Asians and Mexicans believe that a daily pinch of cayenne (in food) can slow aging and help mental alertness.

One of the best foods to have on hand is yogurt. It stops diarrhea. Yogurt with the fat still intact will wrap itself around the bad fat in your body and flush it from your system. Yogurt with fat is a much healthier choice.

Tumeric is a terrific spice to have in your cupboard. It is good for women’s problems and will aid the liver in getting rid of toxins. Just sprinkle it in food to be cooked.

Watermelon is recognized to aid with edema, excess water that pregnant women often accumulate. However, it’s best if you eat pieces of it all day.

In the book ‘Linda Goodman’s Star signs”, it is suggested that eating red fruits and vegetables (preferably raw) will speed up the metabolism.

Speaking of red fruit, the seeds in the pomegranate are a must to eat. Pomegranates help keep the prostate healthy and the arteries clean. Good for the heart!

The body can break down butter much easier than it can margarine. Natural foods are much easier on the arteries. Ever try melting margarine, the plastic smell should remind you that it may not be good for you.

Save your dryer lint. It’s a great way to start a camp fire. I know some crazy stories of men using gasoline. Dryer lint is the way to go.

Love is all there is. The Beatles had it right. Want to put yourself in a great mood? Try this exercise. Locate your heart chakra. It is situated where the ribs join at the front of your body. Picture a white light pouring out to the heart chakra of another person. Do this for 5 minutes. Send love to everyone you can think of. I used to stand downtown Edmonton and send love to everyone I saw. No one could get the grin off my face for the rest of the day. I make much better decisions when I am in a great ‘heart’ mood.

Laughter runs a close second to love. Watch funny movies when the day or even the week has been tough. Laughter will boost your immune system.

It’s very difficult to get sick when you’re in love. The immune system is so strong with love. If you’re not in love, try the love exercise.

LOVE AND THE LIGHT

LOVE AND THE LIGHT

A friend of mine called me today and we discussed her situation at work. A co-worker, Tilly, is quite hostile and several people have quit. My friend Alicia is a psychic and can feel the negative energy and tension. Tilly’s sister works there as well and behaves the same way. Tilly’s mother-in-law is in the same building and ditto for the old gal too.
Alicia feels they (those three delightful women) are using some sort of black witchcraft.

Bad medicine, satanic rituals, black witchcraft are all negative ways of controlling some one. Negatives thoughts we send out when we are annoyed or even angry with someone affect our victims and will eventually return to us tenfold. When the negative energy is compounded with more than one person focusing on an individual, the effects can be difficult even devastating.

A few years ago, I had a very psychic acquaintance who was a Scorpio. Jon was tall and, almost skeletal in appearance. He always wore black, had black hair and eyes and a short pointed black beard. Jon walked with a cane. If someone said or did something he didn’t like, he would smack him with a cane, especially his four year old son. Jon’s son did not talk, little Al would grunt and point, but Mom or Dad would race to get what Al wanted.
I told Jon to leave his son alone and encourage Al to talk. We had quite a few discussions. Jon never did that in front of me again, but there were other problems. Jon’s wife dressed in black, was very overweight and always seemed depressed. She was a Scorpio too. She mentioned that she was into magic. I cringed when she said that because she was terribly depressed and that was not a good sign. I asked what kind of magic she was into. Sara looked at Jon and Jon answered, in fact, it was hard to get a word in with Jon holding court. Jon raced his words around not really answering. When I directly asked Sara if she was using black magic, Sara looked down and shrugged.
“Is this stuff working? Look at you, you seem so sad all the time. Yah, yah, the bad stuff is really working for you isn’t it? You should know better. You give out good, you get it back. You give out bad, you get it back.”
Jon stepped in and offered some feeble answer and asked a favour of me which I remember requesting me to lie. I gathered my things and told them I had to go.
I decided to limit my contact with those two Scorpios, they were operating and making the most of their power negatively. Within two weeks, I heard from friends that Jon misses me and wants to talk to me. I felt drained after several meetings with Jon, so I knew his negative energy was not a good sign. I did not call. Then my inamorata, Randy, asked why I wasn’t talking to Jon. Randy thought Jon had a screw loose, so this was unusual. I explained to Randy that Jon was using the black magic and that Jon was really giving me the creeps. A few days later, Jon called when I was out and Randy again, asked why I wasn’t talking to Jon. Randy, who didn’t even like the guy, was pushing me to call. This kept on for a few weeks, until I realized that the two delightful Scorpios had been using something on me. So I refused all the negative energy sent to my home and the calls stopped. A few weeks later, Randy ran into Jon who had just been released from the hospital. Jon had tried to kill himself, I never thought of him as suicidal. When I returned the energy, it automatically returned to the sender.
I have had bad medicine sent to me during a later period and when I returned the negative energies, I sent love to the sender, so that I would not have a hate connection with the person involved.
I have been to court with clients and have seen miraculous results from getting my clients to send love to the judge, other people etc.

So Alicia decided to white light herself at work and to constantly send love. I told her that sending love to the perpetrators would free her. She will feel no tension at all and be able to deal with everyone in the best way possible. However, the co-workers and mother-in-law will probably have a meltdown, likely in front of other people. Love is the only solution to the dark.

Spiritual Meanings and Language of Herbs and Flowers

We are so very fortunate to be able to have gardens during the growing season and to enjoy the harvest of the many varieties of herbs and flowers to use throughout the year.

There are spiritual meanings and love attached to most herbs and flowers. Messages are sent in bouquets, dried herb combinations, and in a single sprig given with good intention.

The "Tussie-Mussies" is an example of a flower message. Originally called "talking bouquets" and "word posies," Tussie-Mussies are sweet smelling and symbolic flower arrangements that Victorians exchanged in lieu of written greetings. There were actual dictionaries written to decipher the bouquet's meaning. Of course, they were originally developed for women to hold to their noses to banish unpleasant odors, but, as wonderful aside, they were also used to send a romantic or spiritual message or a reminder that they are card for. Depending on which herbs and flowers are used in the little bouquet, it can say anything from " I am thinking kind thoughts of you" to "Meet me behind the barn at midnight." Today, they are still crafted around the world and gifted to men and women alike.

There are too many message plants to list in this article, bu the following are some that you can perhaps gift to friends and family for ritual, healing, or culinary use.
