Did you know?

Onions are great for colds. About 13 years ago, I had such a bad cold, coughing so often and so hard that I had to run to the bathroom each time. My sister Ruth, the Herbalist, told me what to do. Boil an inch or two of water in a pot. Turn off the water and add a thinly sliced onion. Let it sit until the onion is cool enough (yet still hot) to put on the chest just under your chin . Wrap a towel around yourself and sit for an hour to an hour and a half. Your coughing will subside quite a bit. This was a huge help. You can even drink the onion juice from the pot to boost your immune system even more. Doing this several days in a row will be a help.

Garlic is a staple in my house. When any of my children began to show signs of getting sick, we would peel a clove at least for each person and give each child a piece of bread.
Then we put a dollop of sour cream on a plate, my children would dip the bread in sour cream and take a small bite of garlic until the garlic and bread were all finished. This aids the immune system in fighting the cold. It worked for us.

Mango's are great for skin/complexion.

Pineapple have natural enzimes for digestive system.

Goose fat- save fat from cooking goose, and rub on body. Great for people that have had radiation treatment. It protects the body from losing nutrients.
